JEQ - Asia-Pacific stocks in red tracking weakness in global markets ahead of U.S. inflation data

Japan ( NKY:IND ) markets closed. Japan’s 10-year government bond yield eased to around 0.6%, pausing the recent rally as hopes that the Bank of Japan could end its negative interest rate policy this year diminished after the earthquake on New Year's Day raised concerns about the economic outlook.
China ( SHCOMP ) -1.42% . China 'wealth manager' Zhongzhi goes bankrupt amid property market collapse.
Traders look ahead to Chinese trade and inflation figures this week, as well as fourth-quarter GDP data next week to gauge the health of the world’s second-largest economy.

Australia ( AS51 ) -0.50% . Investors also cautiously awaited Australian inflation data this week for further clues on the Reserve Bank of Australia’s next policy moves.
In the U.S. on Friday, all three major indexes ended slightly higher , as traders digest the latest economic data and assess the future path of the US monetary policy.
U.S. stock futures held steady on Monday after Wall Street snapped a nine-week winning streak, while investors look ahead to inflation data and big bank earnings this week: Dow -0.34% ; S&P 500 -0.04% ; Nasdaq -0.01% .
Markets also look ahead to US inflation figures this week for further clues on the path for Fed monetary policy. Meanwhile, escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East continued to support oil prices.
