The U.S. FDA has granted Orphan Drug Status to aTyr Pharma's (NASDAQ:LIFE) efzofitimod for systemic sclerosis. Share are up 5% in after-hours trading. The condition, also known as scleroderma, is an autoimmune disorder characterized by the chronic hardening and tightening of the skin and connective tissues. Efzofitimod is also in phase 2 for pulmonary sarcoidosis.
