LEV - Avis Budget zooms on earnings to take top industrial spot Rent-A-Center gets #1 loser tag
Earnings was the only theme this week and it propelled Avis Budget to the top, as the company found itself among the top five after a month. Rent-A-Center, however, felt the negative impact of earnings and was the worst decliner in the list. Industrial Select Sector SPDR (NYSEARCA:XLI) finished the week ending Nov. 5 in the green +1.82%, after being in the red last week; YTD, XLI is up +20.15%, with a healthy percentage gain this week itself, as the ticker was YTD up +18% at the end of last week. The SPDR S&P 500 Trust ETF (NYSEARCA:SPY) rose (+2.02%) for the fifth week in a row; YTD, SPY is up +25.32%. The top five gainers in the industrial sector (stocks with a market cap of over $2B) all gained more than +22% this week.
