Barnes Group's ( NYSE: B ) stock jumped as much as 8.5% Wednesday on a report that the maker of parts for military turbine engines and other products is exploring strategic options including a sale.
The company is working with advisers to solicit interest from potential buyers including private equity firms, Bloomberg News reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
No final decision has been made on a deal. It's possible the company will decide to remain public.
Barnes ( B ) has 43 manufacturing locations with 5,700 employees.
