QCLN - BlackRock raises $4.8 billion to capitalize on the renewable power space
BlackRock has announced that they have raised $4.8B to invest in the renewable power space. Renewable power and the green energy space have seen massive investment inflows and demand over the past year. In Q1 alone this year, there was $50 billion worth of shares traded in clean energy ETFs, an all-time quarterly record. The $4.8B that BlackRock has raised will be put towards a new fund that will invest in renewable power assets worldwide.BlackRock plans to invest primarily in solar and wind assets but will also seek to invest in technologies such as smart power grids, electric vehicle infrastructure, and smart meters. Furthermore, the company also plans to geographically focus on the United States, Europe, and certain Asian regions like Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.
