HWM - Boeing soars on China optimism; close to resuming Dreamliner deliveries
Boeing (BA +3.9%) opens with strong gains after the company said it is "getting close" to resuming deliveries of the 787 Dreamliner, after suspending them to deal with production issues, and following reports that China's aviation regulator may be close to lifting the country's flight ban on the 737 MAX. Ihssane Mounir, Boeing's senior VP of commercial sales and marketing, also tells Reuters from the Dubai Airshow that the company in "advanced discussions with a number of customers" to sell a cargo version of its future 777X jetliner jet. Boeing suppliers also are higher in early trading: SPR +5.8%, TGI +2.8%, HXL +2%, HWM +1.5%. Executive VP Stan Deal tells CNBC that the freighter markets "are on fire right now.
