SIEGY - Carlyle near Euro2B deal for Siemens' Flender business - Bloomberg
Carlyle Group (CG) is close to an agreement to acquire Siemens' (SIEGY) Flender mechanical drive unit for ~€2B ($2.4B), finalizing terms of a deal that could be announced as early as this week, Bloomberg reports.Carlyle reportedly outbid Brookfield Asset Management (BAM), and Triton (TRTN) and CVC also were asked to submit final offers for the business, which has annual EBITDA of just above €200M.A disposal of Flender would mark one of the final acts by outgoing Siemens CEO Joe Kaeser to streamline the company's operations; last month, the company listed its Siemens Energy turbines and generators supplier after spinning off its Healthineers division in 2018.
