TRUP - Chinese fintech stocks pet insurer recent spinoff top the week's financial gainers
Two Chinese fintech stocks, a pet insurance provider, and a stock stock that's only been publicly traded since Sept. 1 are among financial stocks (with market cap over $2B) making the biggest gains of the week. Topping the list is Trupanion (NASDAQ:TRUP), rising 29% for the week, after the pet insurer teams up with online pet food and supplies merchant Chewy to offer pet insurance to Chewy's more than 20M customers; That's followed by 360 Digitech's (NASDAQ:QFIN) 18% increase; Jackson Financial (NYSE:JXN), a spinoff from Prudential Plc (NYSE:PUK) that started trading on its own in September, gains 14% for the week; Futu Holdings (NASDAQ:FUTU), a Hong Kong-based brokerage and wealth management platform, rebounds 12% this week after suffering the biggest decline of financial stocks in the previous week; and MarketAxess (NASDAQ:MKTX) rises 11% after reporting increased trading activity in November on wider credit spreads and higher volatility.
