COMM - CommScope Microsoft develop private wireless network solution

• CommScope ( NASDAQ: COMM ) shares gained ~3% on Thursday after the network infrastructure provider announced a partnership with Microsoft ( NASDAQ: MSFT ) to develop a converged private wireless network solution to transform industrial manufacturing.
• The integrated solution leverages Microsoft Azure private MEC and CommScope CBRS access points. This cloud-connected, low-latency solution has been deployed at CommScope's ( COMM ) manufacturing innovation center in Shakopee, Minnesota and is said to be improving both the operational efficiency and manufacturing agility of its facilities.
• The network brings cloud-based manufacturing tools and AR applications to factory engineers to improve production ramp times and worker capabilities.
• Shriraj Gaglani, GM for Azure for Operators at Microsoft, said, "We see a tremendous opportunity to transform workforce efficiency by making it easy to deploy and develop private wireless that can underpin agile factories. We collaborated with CommScope to implement use cases that increase worker and production line efficiency, and to help incubate and inspire industry 4.0 transformations."
