Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba ( NYSE:BABA ) has announced that it will prohibit the sale of "virtual currency miners" on its platform. Effective October 8, 2021, this prohibition follows recent news that the People's Bank of China (PBOC) has now banned all "services offering trading, order matching or derivatives for virtual currencies." An excerpt from the Alibaba announcement reads:
For violations such as maliciously evading rules, deliberately confusing product information, intentionally placing products into improper categories, falsely exaggerating products, Alibaba.com will impose penalties according to the severity of the violations, which include but are not limited to removing or deleting products, deducting points, restricting the use of website functions, and closing accounts.
DigiMax Global Inc. ( CSE:DIGI ) has entered an agreement with Delphi AI Systems Inc to "utilize their previously developed, and currently enhanced artificial intelligence tools to track 10 separate commodities to predict price direction." Comparable to DigiMax's own CryptoHawk Price Trend Watch, CommodityHawk "will be offered to institutional traders and commodity producers seeking to hedge inventory positions or profit from trading."
Digivault, the digital asset custody business of Diginex Limited [EQUONEX Group] ( NasdaqCM:EQOS ), has become the first custodian, registered by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FSA), to custody the crypto asset Polkadot ( DOT ). Rob Cooper, CEO of Digivault, said:
