Desktop Metal ( NYSE: DM ) surged 30% in after hours trading on a report that Stratasys ( NASDAQ: SSYS ) is in discussions to purchase the 3D printer company in an all-stock deal.
A deal that values the combined company at about $1.8 billion may be announced as soon as this week, according to a Bloomberg report, which cited people familiar with the matter. Stratasys ( SSYS ) holders are expected to own the majority of the combined company.
