DIS - Disney moves series premieres to Wednesdays after 'Loki' scores with midweek bow

Its latest Marvel series Loki shifted its premiere date up from Friday, June 11, to Wednesday, June 9, and became the service's most-watched premiere yet. Now starting in July, Disney will move all global original series to Wednesdays, in a move to accommodate its increasing volume of material. That grants Disney's increasingly important original series a bit of space from its film releases, which remain on Fridays - but also from Netflix (NFLX -0.2%), which tends to drop whole seasons of its original series on Fridays.
