EBS - Emergent BioSolutions gets ~$380M military contract for skin decontamination lotion kits
- Emergent BioSolutions ( NYSE: EBS ) on Thursday said it had been awarded a contract valued up to ~$380M to supply skin decontamination lotion kits for use by all branches of the U.S. military.
- EBS shares gained 11.8% to $13.80 after hours.
- EBS' Canadian unit will serve as the sole subcontractor to deploy Reactive Skin Decontamination Lotion (RSDL) kits to the U.S. Department of Defense through a new contract award to the Canadian Commercial Corporation, EBS said in a statement .
- The new contract has a maximum value of up to $379.6M and has a base year, which began in Dec. 2022, and four single year option renewals.
- EBS' RSDL kit is intended to remove or neutralize chemical warfare agents and T-2 toxin from the skin.
