GOOGL - Facebook working on smartwatch for next year - report

Facebook (FB) is working on a smartwatch it hopes to sell next year, according to The Information. That watch will allow (of course) for sending messages through Facebook servcies as well as tapping health and fitness features. It would be the latest move by the social networking giant into hardware, following its high-profile moves into virtual reality (Oculus headsets) and its video-calling devices (Portal). A move into watches is new ground occupied by tough rivals, however - primarily including Apple (AAPL), a well as Google's Fitbit ([[GOOG]], [[GOOGL]]) and China's Huawei.
