AstraZeneca's (AZN) $39B acquisition of Alexion Pharmaceuticals (ALXN) has cleared U.S. Federal Trade Commission review.The deal is expected to close in Q3 subject to shareholder approval next month.The acquisition would give AstraZeneca a leg-up in the rare disease space given Alexion's pipeline of 11 molecules and its marketing of Soliris (eculizumab).AstraZeneca shares are down 0.3% to $50.68 while Alexion shares are up 3.2% to $162.50 in premarket trading.
