GVA - Granite nabs $16B airport refueling facility contract in San Diego
Granite (GVA) secures airport refueling and solid waste facility project at the San Diego international airport. The contract is worth $16M and is expected to be in the company's Q4 2020 backlog.The project includes the construction of a five-bay refueler loading facility connecting the existing fuel transfer pipeline near the fuel farm."“We have completed several projects for the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority and are very familiar with the complexities of airside construction," says Granite Regional VP John Boies. "We are pleased to broaden our partnership with the Authority to improve the safety, security and quality of the facility."The company says construction is expected to start in Jan. 2021 through to conclude in Nov. 2021.Granite has recently been awarded $39M highway widening contract in California.
