AMC - Heavy earnings drive week's winners losers in Communications stocks

A heavy earnings period provided the stories around the week's biggest gainers and losers in Communications Services stocks, after the market ended higher than the previous week. Stocks overall wrapped up higher by about 2%, and Communications stocks as a group were up 1.5% over that time span - but that was only good enough for the middle of the pack of sectors, as only two sectors declined, and all were far behind Consumer Discretionary stocks that rose 5% for the week. Communications Services gainers were paced by earnings reports that got a good reception, led by Live Nation Entertainment (NYSE:LYV), up 22.4% for the week with more than 15% of that gain coming Friday following a fan demand-led bounceback along with a strong outlook. Not far behind it was Lumen Technologies (NYSE:LUMN), up 19% for the week and reaching its highest point since June to the relief of shareholders.
