BIDU - Hot Stocks: BABA leads China stocks higher; MRVL sets high; PNW gets Sell rating; MRUS data; OSMT debt sale
A day of gains on Wall Street helped investors forget some of their recent worries on Thursday. This applied to much-maligned (and much-sold) China-based tech stocks, as Alibaba (NYSE:BABA) led a rally in the sector. Baidu (NASDAQ:BIDU), DiDi (NYSE:DIDI) and NetEase (NASDAQ:NTES) also posted gains as part of the general advance. Looking at other standout winners on the session, Merus (NASDAQ:MRUS) expanded its value by more than a third thanks to strong results from an early stage trial of a potential cancer treatment. Meanwhile, Marvell Technology (NASDAQ:MRVL) extended a recent rally, as the afterglow from a well-received investor day drove the stock to a 52-week high. Turning to some of the day's standout losers, Osmotica Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:OSMT) plunged on news of a debt sale. Elsewhere, Pinnacle West (NYSE:PNW) fell to a new low after the disappointing result of a regulatory hearing inspired a Sell rating from Guggenheim. Sector In Focus
