A disappointing forecast sent Nucor (NYSE:NUE) reeling on Wednesday, one of the standout decliners in midday trading. Cerence (NASDAQ:CRNC) also posted a double-digit percentage decline, pulled down by the sudden departure of its CEO. The list of midday decliners also included R.R. Donnelley (NYSE:RRD). The stock gave back some of its recent gains on news that it has accepted an offer in the bidding war to take the company private. Looking at some of the top intraday gainers, Vir Biotechnology (NASDAQ:VIR) posted a notable advance. Shares got a lift from evidence that its anti-COVID product works against the Omicron variant.
