Twitter polls rarely move markets. Except when they involve the world's richest man. Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) lost ground in Monday's pre-market action after a Twitter poll called on Elon Musk to sell a big chunk of his holdings in the electric-vehicle maker. Meanwhile, this weekend's tragic accident at the Astroworld music festival in Houston had a follow-on impact on Wall Street on Monday. Entertainment promoter Live Nation (NYSE:LYV) slipped in pre-market action after it was named in a lawsuit related to the incident. Elsewhere, COVID treatments were back in the news. Regeneron (NASDAQ:REGN) got a boost following the release of strong clinical trial data for its antibody cocktail. Earnings news remained in focus as well.
