Japan's housing starts dropped by 8.5% year-on-year in November 2023, steeper than a 6.3% decline in the prior month and worse than market forecasts of a 4.3% fall.
-
This marked the ninth time of decrease in new construction starts since the beginning of the year and the fastest pace since August, due to falls in dwellings for owned, rented, built for sale, and two-by-four.
