JEQ - Japan's manufacturing PMI revised slightly lower at 49.6 in August

The au Jibun Bank Japan Manufacturing PMI was revised slightly downward to 49.6 in August 2023 from a flash reading of 49.7, indicating the third straight month of fall in factory activity.

Output shrank moderately which was unchanged from that in July, new orders dropped at a softer rate and foreign demand declined the least in 13 months.

Meantime, the reduction in buying level was the softest since last October.

Lastly, sentiment notched its lowest since February.
