• After selling its enterprise business unit to the STG, MCFE’s remaining consumer business has received a bid from a consortium of private equity funds.
• The bid price of $26, in our opinion, is a significant discount to what the business is actually worth.
• We see short-term opportunities for professional/experienced merger arb and ordinary investors alike with very low downside risk as the deal moves toward completion.
• Existing MCFE shareholders should take action to extract more of MCFE’s full value out of the deal.
