MOGO - MOGO invests in Canada's first regulated cryptocurrency custodian
peshkov/iStock via Getty Images Fintech company Mogo (([[MOGO]] -3.5%)) makes a minority investment in Tetra Trust Company, a digital asset platform that launched as Canada's first qualified custodian for cryptocurrency assets today. Before Tetra's launch, the crypto market in Canada was limited to U.S. providers and unregulated Canadian custodians, Mogo said. Tetra is backed by Coinsquare, a Canadian crypto exchange digital asset trading platform, Coinbase's ([[COIN]] -6.2%) investment arm, and the Canadian Securities Exchange. In June, Mogo had acquired an ~39% ownership position in Coinsquare. Coinsquare owns ~47% and Mogo acquired ~4% of Tetra's outstanding common stock. Bitcoin (BTC-USD) is down 5.8% to $32.7K and Ethereum (ETH-USD) is down 8.9% to $2,147. In May, Mogo purchases 146 Ether to boost blockchain and cryptocurrency.
