EMR - National Instruments shareholders approve proposed acquisition by Emerson

National Instruments ( NASDAQ: NATI ) said on Thursday that its shareholders have approved a proposed acquisition of the maker of industrial electronics by Emerson Electric ( NYSE: EMR ).
The engineering company is buying NATI for $60 a share in cash for a total value of $8.2B.
The approval was received at a special meeting of stockholders held earlier today.
