DIS - Netflix's 'Squid Game' tops streaming boards for fourth week
Netflix (NFLX +2.7%) hit Squid Game maintained its grip on the top of the streaming ratings for a fourth week, though other series helped the streamer consolidate its hold on overall viewing numbers. Squid Game gave up some business this week, falling to just 2.254 billion minutes streamed, as measured in Nielsen's most recent weekly ratings (covering Oct. 11-Oct. 17). But a timely release of season three of Netflix's You was right behind it, streaming 1.938 billion minutes; its new series Maid was third with 1.474 billion minutes; and Shameless (a series that migrated from Showtime (VIAC +0.3%, VIACA +1.7%) to Netflix) landed in fourth with 964 million minutes. Netflix swept all of the top 10 shows in overall streaming, and as usual had all of the top 10 acquired series as well, led by Shameless, CoComelon (662 million minutes streamed), The Blacklist (656 million) and Seinfeld (581 million).
