SIEGY - New platform for consumers to sell extra solar production

Siemens ([[SIEGY]] -0.3%) has unveiled a trading platform that allows households with rooftop solar energy panels to trade power locally with consumers and businesses, earning money from marketing their excess production.The service, called Pebbles, will be launched with utility Allgaeuer Ueberlandwerk in the Bavarian village of Wildpoldsried and will use blockchain technology to link participants via an app."If we want to achieve the energy transition, we have to get small protagonists on board and integrate them," said the project leader for Siemens, Michael Metzger, in a webcast.
