FSLR - NextEra asks U.S. to deny request for more solar tariffs
NextEra Energy (NYSE:NEE) is asking the U.S. Department of Commerce to either force an anonymous group of U.S. solar panel makers to identify its members or reject their requests to extend tariffs on imported panels, Bloomberg reports. NextEra challenged applications filed last week by a group seeking to extend import duties to certain Chinese-owned factories in Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand. The utility questions the group's claim that identifying its members could lead to retribution against them. Potentially relevant tickers include TAN, CSIQ, JKS, FSLR, SPWR, ENPH, SEDG, RUN, DQ, MAXN, SUNW, NOVA, ARRY, FTCI, SHLS Solar stocks have traded mostly lower in recent days as the Biden administration cracks down on alleged labor abuses in China's Xinjiang region by holding up solar components at U.S. ports.
