MSFT - Oracle is said expected to acquire Cerner for mid $90s/share
Oracle (NYSE:ORCL) is expected to announced tomorrow that it agreed to purchase Cerner (NASDAQ:CERN) for mid $90s/share, according to a tweet from CNBC's David Faber. The tweet comes after the WSJ reported last week that Oracle was in advanced discussion to buy Oracle in a deal that may be valued at about $30B. The deal is expected to be Oracle's largest ever. Cerner has been the subject of takeover speculation this year after a Betaville report in May that the company may be a potential target. Some people following the matter speculated potential buyers may be Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) or Oracle (ORCL), according to Betaville. Oracle shares fell on Friday on concerns over potential Cerner acquisition. Also see, Oracle acquisition of Cerner would be 'negative catalyst' for shares, UBS says.
