PHG - Philips sets date for shareholders' meeting to appoint new CEO

Royal Philips ( NYSE: PHG ) said it will hold an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders (EGM) on Sept. 30 to appoint Roy Jakobs as the company's new President and CEO, effective Oct. 15.
Earlier in the week, the company said that it was appointing Jakobs to succeed Frans van Houten as president and CEO.
Jakobs currently serves as executive vice president and chief business leader of Connected Care at Philips and has led the company's initiative for the voluntary recall of respiratory devices.
