- Royal Philips ( NYSE: PHG ) said it will hold an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders (EGM) on Sept. 30 to appoint Roy Jakobs as the company's new President and CEO, effective Oct. 15.
- Earlier in the week, the company said that it was appointing Jakobs to succeed Frans van Houten as president and CEO.
- Jakobs currently serves as executive vice president and chief business leader of Connected Care at Philips and has led the company's initiative for the voluntary recall of respiratory devices.
