QTS - QTS opens phase 1 of mega data center in Oregon

QTS Realty Trust (QTS +0.2%) has formally opened phase 1 of its new "mega data center" in Hillsboro, Ore. It had previously announced preleasing 100% of the first phase to a global software-as-a-service provider, representing about 4.5 megawatts of critical power. The new campus has abundant networking in place on day one, with diverse connectivity for cloud and hybrid co-location. It initially encompasses a 158,000-square-foot, 24-megawatt data center. Future plans call for building five such centers, aggregating more than 1M leasable square feet and more than 250 MW of gross power capacity.
