WBA - Sen. Duckworth calls on FTC to investigate AmerisourceBergen over abortion pill

- Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) is asking the Federal Trade Commission to look into AmerisourceBergen ( NYSE: ABC ) amid reports the drug wholesaler will hold back on sales of the abortion drug mifepristone in some states.
- Duckworth's letter comes as 20 Republican Attorneys General are pushing for a ban on the drug in their states .
- In the letter to the FTC, Duckworth argues that "one cannot dismiss the possibility that AmerisourceBergen ( ABC ) may be using broader political disagreements and active legal debates as pretextual cover and justification for engaging in anticompetitive, unfair and deceptive practices," Bloomberg reported.
- Earlier in March, a federal court judge appeared to question how the US FDA handled the approval of mifepristone .
