SFTBY - SoftBank Vision Fund's COO and four partners have resigned
SoftBank ([[SFTBF]],[[SFTBY]]) Vision Fund COO Ruwan Weerasekera has retired. Neil Hadley, chief of staff to the fund's CEO, will add the COO duties to his current responsibilities.Investor relations head and partner Penny Bodle has also left the fund. And operating partner Avi Golan departed to head an AI software company.Investing partners Ted Fike and Justin Wilson resigned to join the Gores Group as senior managing directors focusing on SPACs.Last December, a Bloomberg Businessweek report cited anonymous employees who said the Vision Fund had a culture that celebrated recklessness.Despite expensive write-downs for the WeWork and Uber investments, the Vision Fund continues to make big bets on startups that include fitness tracking company Whoop and restaurant tech company Ordermark.Previously: SoftBank Vision Fund preparing a SPAC launch (Oct. 12 2020)
