MCFE - T-Mobile says almost 8M current customers hit in network hack
T-Mobile (NASDAQ:TMUS) shares were relatively unchanged Wednesday in the wake of the company's latest update on a cyber attack on the mobile-phone network operator. The company confirmed that 7.8 million current customers with post-paid accounts had their account information compromised in the data breach. Another 40 million former or prospective customers who had applied for credit had their account information stolen in the attack. T-Mobile (TMUS) said in a statement that the breach did not include any person's phone numbers, account numbers, PIN codes, passwords, or financial information. The company said it will offer two years of free identity protection from McAfee (NASDAQ:MCFE), along with other services, to its customers as a result of the attack. T-Mobile (TMUS) first disclosed details of the matter earlier this week after a hacker claimed to be selling data collected in the security breach.
