Terran Orbital ( LLAP ) has signed a memorandum of agreement with Safran Electronics & Defense for the production of new electric propulsion systems for satellites in the United States, the company said Friday.

The companies will undertake an in-depth analysis to determine the technical, industrial, and economic prerequisites for a new U.S.-based production line for electric propulsion systems.

Terran's facility in Irvine, California, which produces microsatellites, is being considered for location.
