ACTV - The Market Bottomed On June 16

• Value Line Arithmetic Index bottomed on 6/16.
• The S&P 500 Index bottomed on 6/16.
• The NADSAQ 100 Index bottomed on 6/16.

I'm going out on a very shaky limb and calling the Stock Market Bottom was on June 16th. You can never predict the day that the Market will bottom nor do you know it on the day it happens but you can only tell it after it happens.

You can see by these charts that we have hit a series of bottoms and then went on to new ones but I think this is it - or was it.

I always use 3 indices to tell me what the Market is doing, each has a slightly different way of being calculated:

1. The Value Line Arithmetic Index - A non-cap weighted index of 1700 major stocks with each one given equal weight so the larger stocks don't skew the results
2. The S&P 500 Index - The 500 largest stocks where each is cap weighted so the large stocks do skew the results
3. The NASDAQ 100 - The 100 largest stocks traded on the NASDAQ - cap weighted but mainly tech stocks.

To illustrate the momentum I use each in a 40 day Hi/Lo turtle channel and note that each made their last low on 6/16:

I cross my fingers I'm right. My personal accounts are mainly in cash but beginning next week I will be looking for stocks that I feel are safe and rising again, but o nly if new bottoms aren't reached.
