Warchi/iStock via Getty Images Wall Street’s IPO and SPAC markets ran in overdrive during 2021’s first half, with the number of offerings made and the total dollars raised hitting levels not seen since at least the dot-com boom -- if ever. “The IPO market continues to see levels of activity that we haven’t seen in more than two decades. As long as the stock market doesn’t fall, I expect this high level of activity to continue,” said Dr. Jay Ritter, a University of Florida Warrington College of Business professor who’s known as “Mr. IPO.” The New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq collectively saw 614 U.S. initial public offerings during the first half, raising $184.2B between them.
