DM - Voxeljet potential next acquisition target among 3D printers - Dealreporter
Voxeljet (VJET +5.7%) is the likely next takeover target after Desktop Metal (DM -6.1%) announced plans to acquire additive manufacturing peer ExOne (XONE +45.1%). Dealreporter notes that Voxeljet (NASDAQ:VJET) is trading at a comparatively low valuation to some peers with a forward sales multiple of 2.1x compared to the 3.4x for ExOne. Regarding the signed deal, the firm says Desktop Metal (NYSE:DM) can turn ExOne's existing offerings into turnkey solutions by adding front-end software and furnace technology. While the companies are competitors, Dealreporter sees the 3D printing market as fragmented enough to put regulatory hurdles in the path of the deals' fourth-quarter close. Background: Desktop Metal acquires 3D printing peer ExOne in deal valued at $575 million
