XPEV - XPeng introduces new mass market SUV at Auto Shanghai

XPeng Inc. ( NYSE: XPEV ) announced the debut of its fifth smart EV model at the Auto Shangai 2023 event.

The XPENG G6 Ultra Smart Coupe SUV is the first production model based on the Chinese automaker's next-generation smart electric platform architecture called SEPA2.0. The G6 is noted to deliver XPeng's ( XPEV ) latest smart driving, intelligent cabin, superfast charging and superior performance features. The new EV model will include the latest XNGP as a final stage of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) before fully realizing autonomous driving.

The SUV also comes equipped with the 800V high-voltage SiC platform and 3C battery cells, China’s only mass-produced front and rear integrated aluminum body die-casting technology, and CIB battery-body integration technology. The 800V+3C technology for the G6 is anticipated to extend the range to as far as 755 kilometers. The maximum charging speed is just 10 minutes of charging for 300km of range.

Official pricing has not announced yet for the G6, but the mass market SUV  is expected to be priced in a range of $30K to $44K.

Shares of XPEV peeled off 2.42% in premarket trading on Tuesday after a 15.22% pop on Monday.
