- Altisource Asset Management ( NYSE: AAMC ) said Monday it was awarded more than $1.6M in the arbitration brought against it by its former chief executive Indroneel Chatterjee.
- Chatterjee filed the arbitration after Altisource ( AAMC ) terminated his employment for cause in April 2021.
- The arbitrator earlier dismissed Chatterjee's claims and awarded Altisource ( AAMC ) ~$600K related to partial return of his signing bonus and reimbursement to the company for all expenses it incurred as a result of his misconduct in the arbitration.
- The arbitrator's final award granted an additional award of over $1M to Altisource ( AAMC ).
- The company will enforce the judgment against Chatterjee.
- Altisource ( AAMC ) terminated Chatterjee in April 2021 for violating its equal employment opportunity, prevention against harassment, and conduct on the job policies.
