American Resources ( NASDAQ: AREC ) said Thursday it has started planning and development on its next two carbon mines in Kentucky to supply its McCoy Elkhorn complex with additional metallurgical carbon.
The mines have a low-cost of development and are capable of producing up to 45K tons/month, the company said.
The hub and spoke facility is centered around two state of the art processing plants, a 110-car unit train rail load out facility, and two fully approved and permitted impoundments that can process more than 6M tons/year of carbon.
Earlier this week, American Resources ( AREC ) said it received a commitment for $4.9M in federal tax credits for its Wyoming County Coal complex in West Virginia .
