Apple ( NASDAQ: AAPL ) has added a top executive from Italian automaker Lamborghini to aid in its vehicle program, per Bloomberg .
The outlet reported on Wednesday that Luigi Taraborrelli, former head of chassis and vehicle dynamics at the luxury automaker, has joined Apple to help stalled EV and autonomous vehicle efforts at the mega-cap tech company. In his capacity at Lamborghini, Taraborrelli helped design the Urus, Huracan, and Aventador models as well as a few concept cars.
The Italian executive joins former Canoo ( GOEV ) CEO Ulrich Kranz and former Tesla VP of Engineering Stuart Bowers in the tech giant's nascent vehicle program. The iPhone-maker affirmed plans for a full autonomous vehicle to hit roads by 2025 as recently as last year . Production is planned for 2024.
