Apple ( NASDAQ: AAPL ) is "well prepared" for the announcement of its mixed reality headset, amid recent concerns , a top analyst said on Monday.
In a blog post , TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple ( AAPL ) is "highly likely" to announced the headset next month at its developer conference and that the new device "bodes well" for the share prices of its supply chain, given that five of the components are some of the "most expensive material costs."
Aside from assembly, which is being handled by Luxshare, the micro OLED display is being manufactured by Sony ( SONY ), while the dual processors are being manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor ( TSM ).
In addition, the main supplier for the device's casing is Everwin Precision, while the camera modules and external power supply are being exclusively handled by Cowell and Goretek, respectively.
Pricing for the device, which is expected to incorporate both virtual and augmented reality, has not yet been revealed, but industry watchers expect the headset to cost around $3,000.
Apple is setto kick off its annual developer conference, known as WWDC, starting June 5, with a keynote address.
The annual confab, which runs until June 9 and will be held at Apple Park, will bring together Apple ( AAPL ) developers, press and analysts.
In February, it was reported that Apple ( AAPL ) had delayed the announcement of the long-awaited device from April to June because of "lingering issues" with the development of the product.
In addition, Apple ( AAPL ) is expected to show off the latest versions of its iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, watchOS and macOS operating systems.
Apple ( AAPL ) shares slipped fractionally in mid-day trading on Monday.
