Brian Ostroff, Presidentand CEO of Arianne Phosphate Inc. (OTCMKTS: DRRSF), recentlyspoke at Lytham Partners Investor Select Conference about the growingimportance of high-quality phosphate for various industries and thestrengths of his company to help meet that demand.
Ostroff explained thatthe demand for phosphate has skyrocketed recently. Historically, phosphate has always been a key component in fertilizers but recently, phosphate has become an important raw material for lithium-ironphosphate batteries (LFPs). LFP batteries are becoming prominent inEVs (electric vehicles) as well as energy storage systems.
By the end of thedecade, LFPs are projected to be the leadingbattery chemistry for EVs , replacing their cobalt andnickel-based lithium-ion predecessor. Companies like Tesla, Ford,Rivian and Volkswagen have already decided to makethe switch to LFP batteries for all of their standard-range vehiclesin North America . LFPs are all-in-all cheaper, safer and lastlonger than nickel or cobalt-based batteries. And because of this, phosphate is an increasingly high-demand commodity.
With this growing demandcomes a need for suppliers, specifically suppliers that meet industrystandards and are regionally located. Ostroff explains that manyindustry leaders have analyzed recent inflation trends and chalkedrising prices up to supply chain issues. Logistic concerns and theinability to maintain steady supplies of raw materials have hurtcertain industries and the overall economy. Now more than ever, thereis a desire for industries to have supplies close to home to ensuresuccessful manufacturing.
Not onlyare North American companies looking for regional suppliers, but theyare also demandinghigher-quality phosphate to create the best productsavailable. Arianne Phosphate seems to check all of the boxes.
What Sets Arianne Phosphate Apart From Competitors?
Arianne Phosphate Inc.is a promising phosphate mining company located in Quebec, Canada. Thecompany’s Lac à Paul project is a response to the growing globaldemand for phosphate, which is increasing by 2% to 3% eachyear in terms of agricultural demand and will be considerablyhigher when LFP batteries are taken into account. The Lac à Paulproject is a fully permitted, shovel-ready project.
Arianne’s is aworld-class mining site and is the single largest greenfield depositof phosphate. One major edge Arianne has is the deposit is igneouswhich allows it to produce a concentrate higher than 90% of theworld’s phosphate, which is housed in sedimentary rock. This allowsArianne to produce a high-purity and low-contaminant phosphateconcentrate ideal for use in batteries and fertilizer.
But beyond qualityphosphate, Arianne also boasts strong community support and adheres tostricter environmental, social and corporate standards. For NorthAmerican companies that want their suppliers to align with theiragendas, Arianne is a perfect partner.
Hydroelectricity — a clean, green, renewableenergy source — will provide 75% of all energy required for the Lacà Paul project. Arianne also has followed a greenhouse gas emissionsaccounting program since 2010 to help reduce its ecological footprint. The company is committed to being as carbon-neutral as possible.
Arianne has alsoworked with native communities to foster a prosperous relationship. On June 12,2015, the company signed acooperation agreement with three First Nations — indigenousCanadian peoples — for the exploration and preconstruction phase ofthe Lac à
Paulproject, with ongoing negotiations to conclude its impact and benefitsagreement. The company says it is determined to adhere to bestpractices and maintain its strong social license among the populationto operate. The Quebec government also owns 6% of the project.
Ostroff also shared thatthe company has added some highly qualified industry leaders to theircompany. One notable example is Marco Gagnon, who has joined the Boardof Directors and brings his geological experience to Arianne. Thecompany is continuously working hard to bring the most qualifiedpeople on board to ensure that Arianne can continue to be the largest, purest, and safest phosphate mining company in the industry.
