Vanderburgh County Residents enjoy the advantages of fiber-optic technology, which AT&T* designed and grew earlier this year, just as Indiana farmers are receiving the rewards of the crops they planted in the spring.
The first areas to receive AT&T (T stock) Fiber as part of a countywide, $39 million network rollout were announced during AT&T CEO John Stankey’s visit to Vanderburgh County with County Commissioner Cheryl Musgrave.
This public-private partnership illustrates AT&T’s collaboration with local authorities to increase internet availability and reduce the digital gap in their areas. In the county, which is primarily rural and where AT&T is laying fiber to more than 20,000 sites, around one-third of homes, farms, and businesses lacked access to fixed internet service before this fiber project.
According to AT&T Inc ( NYSE:T ) CEO John Stankey , we have a once-in-a-generation chance to provide high-speed, dependable internet to communities nationwide. Combining public sector support with private sector investment is the most economical method to ensure that more Americans can benefit from solid connections.
