Baker Hughes ( NASDAQ: BKR ) said Monday it won an order from Bechtel to supply critical liquefaction equipment for Sempra's ( SRE ) Port Arthur LNG Phase 1 project in Texas, following the positive final investment decision announced last week .
The oilfield services company said it was awarded a contract for two main refrigerant compressors, for a total of four Frame 7 turbines and eight centrifugal compressors across two LNG trains, and two electric motor driven compressors for the plant's boosting services; financial terms were not disclosed.
Sempra ( SRE ) also plans to develop a second 13.5M tons/year phase 2 at Port Arthur, as well as several projects in Mexico.
The expected commercial operation dates for Port Arthur LNG Phase 1 Train 1 and Train 2 are 2027 and 2028, respectively.
In January, Baker Hughes ( BKR ) reported slightly lower than expected Q4 adjusted earnings and revenues but said orders totaled a quarterly record of $8B .
