- BASF ( OTCQX:BASFY ) has signed virtual power purchase agreements (VPPAs) for 250MW of wind and solar power.
- The VPPAs will help offset the carbon-intensive grid-supplied electricity being consumed at over 20 BASF manufacturing sites across the U.S.
- The chemical firm has agreed to purchase 100MW of power generated by Dawn Solar, while an additional 150MW of renewable energy capacity will come through transactions with EDF Energy Services. The combined agreements will result in the purchase of over 660,000MWh of electricity per year.
- BASF ( OTCQX:BASFY ) aims to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 25 percent compared with 2018 by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
