Canadian Solar ( NASDAQ: CSIQ ) +1.9% pre-market Thursday after saying it was selected to provide 487 MWh of SolBank energy storage products to Aypa Power, a Blackstone portfolio company that develops utility-scale energy storage and hybrid renewable energy projects.
The energy storage products provided by CSI Energy Storage will be used to support Aypa Power's standalone energy storage project in Southern California, which is expected to be operational by H1 2024.
Canadian Solar ( CSIQ ) said the project will utilize CSI Energy Storage's SolBank, a battery energy storage solution designed and manufactured for utility-scale applications.
Aypa Power currently has more than 15 GW in energy storage development across North America.
CSI Energy Storage has deployed ~2.3 GWh of battery energy storage solutions to date across the U.S., Canada, U.K. and China.
