Exploring for gold in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt
Cartier Resources is based out of Val-d’Or, Quebec. They're focused on gold exploration in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt. Markedly, Quebec has consistently ranked high as one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world. This is primarily based on its mineral rich geology, attractive tax environment, and pro-mining government.
The Chimo Mine
Cartier's main asset is the Chimo Mine Project. It's a past producing gold mine producing about 400K ounces of gold over the last few years. Furthermore, the recent drilling of Phases I, II and III, completed to date by Cartier on the Chimo Mine property, consists of 116 holes totaling 54,000 m. This work demonstrated the continuity of the main 5B and 5M gold zones under the existing mining infrastructure, explored the extensions of 19 gold zones peripheral to the main zones and explored the extensions of the 7 gold zones that were prioritized; which allowed the discovery of the Zones 5B4-5M4-5NE and to develop the potential of Zone 6N1. These areas have excellent potential to deliver future discoveries.
"We reported some very nice gold intersects at depth. And we're also working to deliver some engineering aspects of the project to help people understand that the gold inventory that we did come up with can be potentially economic.", says President and CEO, Philippe Cloutier.
Additionally, Cartier is ready to embark on yet another adventure with its Benoist deposit, its Fenton deposit and its Wilson deposit.
"And with the current drilling, we're even looking at producing yet a third resource estimate for the Chimo Gold Mine project with $6 million in the bank. We could deliver all of that work and sail towards the future with confidence." says Cloutier.
